Job Description:
The candidate for this position will provide software and database development support to the U.S. Army Software Engineering Directorate. The candidate will be working as part of a software development team that is designing and developing software applications that will enhance Army aviation maintenance and logistics operations. Candidate should have experience in supporting web based software solutions. The candidates activities will include performing analysis, design and development according to existing coding standards and guidelines.
Job Duties:
Candidate will be primarily responsible for advancing the role of data architecture and governance within the enterprise. Candidate will interpret and analyze requirements obtained/derived from customer; review, verify and/or validate system specifications and other design:related documentation. A positive outcome for this position is the design of optimized data models, flows and warehouses. Data Warehouse Design will be a primary responsibility of the role. Candidate will function as the lead analyst for data warehousing and mapping source systems to the enterprise model to support data integration. Candidate should be able to suggest and implement process changes to improve the overall data management effectiveness.
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university in computer engineering, computer science, or related technical field is required and 9+ years of experience.
Required Skills:
: Direct experience in implementing enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support.
: Direct experience in website database optimization.
: Hands:on knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, data mapping tools, and data profiling tools.
: Demonstrated expertise with repository creation, and data and information system life cycle methodologies.
: Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, reporting structures, and so on.
: Understanding of Web services (JSON, SOAP, XML, UDDI, WSDL) and Object Oriented programming experience (.Net).
: Relational model design. Dimensional modeling. ETL processes.
: Data warehousing and decision support tools and techniques.
: Ability to work independently and perform multiple concurrent and diversified tasks effectively.
: Experience with SQL Server Replication, Clustering, ETL, and/or OLAP.
: Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
: Work closely with the Software Development team to provide workable normalized schemas and stored procedures
: Ability to create requirements specifications, design documentation and other technical documentation.
: Demonstrated multi:database synchronization experience and SSIS development.
: Demonstrated knowledge of good relational database development practices.
: Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance. : CompTIA Security+ must be obtained within three months of employment.
Desired Skills:
: Active DoD SECRET clearance is strongly preferred.
: C Programming and Experience with .NET Framework and Visual Studio IDE, DAL and ORM development.
: Database development with Scrum/Agile development methodology.
: Experience with Team Foundation Server.
: Knowledge of Army Aviation systems and data is a plus.
