Overview: Boeing developed the first Minuteman missile that has protected our nation through strategic deterrence since 1958. The Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program is the Minuteman III replacement system led by the United States Air Force. Our team is supporting the USAFs nuclear deterrence mission to replace the entire weapon system and refurbish the existing ground systems infrastructure. The program is under a three year Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) contract that will mature our design through Preliminary Design Review (PDR). This systems engineering data architecture lead position is responsible for capture, management, and use of data to support engineering activities. Examples of this data include requirements, functions, logical elements, physical breakdown structures, data for verification and certification, system analysis, and model and simulation. This systems engineering data architecture evaluates system engineering tools and determines the best approach for how data will be captured and what relationship should exist between data elements to support the life cycle or systems engineering V for the program. This includes understanding and evaluating the data and downstream data needs today and 3-5 years in the future so that data can be structured to support on-going as well as future activities and stakeholders. The systems engineering data architecture needs to understand the system engineering process, artifacts, and flows to determine what artifacts and associated data should be captured and managed in a Model Based Systems Engineering environment. The systems engineering data architecture lead is also responsible for looking at what tools should interface with the goal to streamline processes and minimize standalone documents. Job Description Responsibilities: Develop a common environment for information sharing (Data Architecture) Provide a data structure that support the horizontal (requirements, functions, interfaces, logical, etc.) and vertical (system, segment, subsystem, component) integration of data (Data Modeling and Design) Identify data and scripts that supports early error and gap detection (Data Quality) Determine if and how suppliers and customers interface with the data (Data Security) Provide consistent definitions and architecture data views to stakeholders for making informed decisions (Data Integration and Interoperability) Develop approach and implementation for conducting virtual technical reviews using data directly out of the tool(s) (Data Visualization) Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems.
