The Flight and Ground Systems Division within the SpaceSystems Department at MSFC desires a Senior Software Requirements DevelopmentEngineer with an established background in Software Requirements developmentfor real time embedded avionics subsystems to include associated toolsets\\. The candidate will be proficient in Agile DevelopmentProcesses as they apply to the development and certification of SoftwareDocumentation to include Software Requirements\\. This position requires a solid understanding of the software development,test, and verification engineering discipline as well as the CMMI 3 levelprocesses involved\\.
The following activities will be required:
+ Spearheadthe creation, review, and development of senior engineer level SoftwareRequirements products to support to the Systems Engineering and IntegrationDivision within the Space Systems Department at MSFC\\.
+ This includestechnical performance requirements, functional flow decomposition and diagrams,trade studies, functional allocation, interface requirement documents,verification requirement planning, software requirement specifications,verification matrices, reliability and others\\.
+ Develop andmaintain Software Requirements through extensive inter and intra teamcommunications e\\.g\\. Configuration Management, Design, Test, and Software ReviewBoards\\.
+ Performanalyses and trade studies to determine the proper distribution and definitionof requirements to meet the competing demands of performance, cost, andschedule\\.
+ Maintainproper documentation and records utilizing DOORS\\.
+ Interactwith Design, Test teams, and external vendors to develop and automate productsand processes used to create them\\.
Degree in Engineering or related field from an ABET\\-accredited university is required\\. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph\\.D\\., with a minimum 14 years of experience, Masters with at least 18 years of experience, or BS with at least 20 years of experience\\.
DesiredSkills for this position include:
+ Expertise inin the specification of avionics flight software and associated tools for alaunch vehicle system\\.
+ Ability toreview and provide relevant feedback on avionics and software technicalproducts\\.
+ Broadunderstanding of Systems and Software Engineering processes such as Agile andObject Oriented Methodologies\\.
+ Previousexperience with UML representations of designs\\.
+ Excellentcommunication, team interaction, and problem solving skills are critical\\.
+ Ability tomulti\\-task and to be proactive in between formal assignments, and ability toget a task completed with minimal direction\\.
+ Experiencewith DOORS and customization of DOORS to project requirements\\.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such asPowerPoint, Excel, and Word\\.
**Essential Functions**
**Work Environment**
Office environment\\. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing \\(100%\\)\\. Requires ability to interact professionally with co\\-workers, management, and client \\(100%\\)\\. Requires travel in the domestic USA \\(<15>**Physical Requirements**
Requires sitting for extended periods of time in meetings with peers, management, and with our client at NASA facilities to discuss technical issues \\(10%\\)\\. Also, requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk to write reports and perform engineering tasks \\(80%\\)\\. Requires ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at NASA and Jacobs facilities \\(10%\\)\\.
**Equipment and Machines**
Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, fax machine, copier, calculator, and other general office equipment \\(100%\\)\\.
Normal workday is from 7:30 a\\.m\\. through 4:30 p\\.m\\., Monday thru Friday\\. Minimal overtime may be required \\(10%\\) to meet schedule milestones and to support technical demands of the job\\. Regular attendance is a necessity and adequate arrangements for delegating duties during absences are required\\.
**Other Essential Functions**
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to make rational decisions, and to exercise good judgment is essential \\(100%\\)\\. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others\\.
