Job Summary

Responsible for clinical, consultative and educational activities that identifies and facilitates processes to address the learning needs of staff. Accountable for developing and monitoring RN orientation, policies and procedures, and opportunities for staff development. Works closely with assigned clinical departments to ensure quality.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required

Education/Licensure/Certifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program required, preferably with bachelor degree. Current Alabama nursing license, ACLS, TNCC and ENPC required. BCLS required within 6 month provisional period.

Experience

Minimum of five years experience as a staff nurse in an emergency department required. Prefer recent management and/or instructor experience. Specialty experience preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities

Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must have knowledge of all equipment and materials required for procedures described in the Emergency Services Policy/Procedure Manual and Nursing Service Procedure Manual. Must be able to become proficient in use of pre-hospital radio equipment and poisondex. Must be proficient in use of computer, to include word processing and spreadsheet applications.
