POSITION OVERVIEW The Program Site Facilitator works closely with schools, community organizations, and other partners in a specific community to coordinate and deliver Girls Inc. programming, mentoring, and activities for K-8th grade girls. This individual will also have a pivotal role in being a role model/mentor to girls, promoting their well-being, development, confidence, and success; motivating and inspiring girls to be active participants in program activities, promoting their long term involvement and providing evaluation and feedback to ensure our programs stay relevant to all girls. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program Preparation, Delivery, and Evaluation Be a strong, smart, bold mentor to girls, promoting their well-being, development, confidence, and success; embrace every girla€ (TM) s strengths and abilities Recruit girls for Girls Inc. of Huntsville programs in target community Assist in recruitment and registration of participants for workshops, conferences, and any other Girls Inc. activities Plan, develop, and deliver high-quality programming to girls ages 6-13, covering topics including sexual health and pregnancy prevention, media literacy, economic literacy, STEM, and college and career planning Assist with the planning and chaperoning of special events, enrichment trips, and other outings for girls Coordinate travel of program participants and staff, as needed. Track girlsa€ (TM) attendance and participation; promote girlsa€ (TM) long-term involvement and program retention Oversee administrative tasks for program site, including filing and maintaining databases Meet with students and administration to learn about community needs Work with Program Operations Director to determine which Girls Inc. programs to offer, where; adapt/enhance as necessary to ensure that selected curriculum matches needs of program partners Distribute, collect, and submit program session paperwork and evaluations Provide written evaluation of programming based on data from surveys, reflections, reports, and other feedback to support with development reports Track program progress, successes and challenges against goals. Share program highlights, successes, and challenges with Program Operations Director through regular written and oral reports. Partner Relationship Management Act as liaison to school administration and community partners to develop and maintain program partner relationships Seek opportunities to expand Girls Inc. of Huntsville programs in target communities and advance its mission through partnerships with schools, community based organizations, and other key stakeholders Ensure that programs meet goals and objectives to create the desired outcomes Administration Work with volunteers to deliver and enrich programs Take part in Girls Inc. program staff training Submit evaluations and reports and attend regular supervision with Program Operations Director Provide administrative support as needed Communications Create communications channels to reach parents and caregivers Represent Girls Inc. at local meetings in target communities, including community outreach events Assist in efforts to increase inter-agency collaboration, organizational visibility and cultivate volunteers Serve as an advocate for girls in the community Capture photos and quotes to share with Girls Inc. team for communications and fundraising purposes Participate in community outreach events and assist in public relations efforts, as needed COMPETENCIES Curriculum Ability to adapt curriculum, as needed (based on duration, program focus, age) Expertise in key Girls Inc. program areas (youth development and experiential education; health, wellness & sexuality, including pregnancy prevention, STIs & contraception; media literacy and familiarity with current and popular youth media; science and environmental issues) People Management Provide clear direction and ensures that each person recognizes the importance of their work Provide timely, specific addressable feedback with other stakeholders Actively solicit input from each person, encouraging ways to improve program and outcomes Open communication style that encourages input and feedback from all constituents Recognize conflict situations; listen with intention; work to establish common ground and resolution Project Management Ability to develop timelines, track tasks, and work to deadlines Prioritize appropriately and act in keeping with priorities Able to identify and address inhibitors to progress Assist with annual events such as the annual fundraiser and end of year celebration Expertise with office technologies, especially Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and internet resources such as google docs Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written skills, as seen in communications with students, parents, and school partners Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with partner site directors Ability to write clearly in a variety of communications and styles (suitable for materials for girls, parents, school/nonprofit administrators, funders) Speak effectively with different audiences (girls, parents, funders, administrators, government agencies) Organizational Culture Embrace the Girls Inc. mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold Support Girls Inc. asset-based philosophy of building on strengths, rather than focusing on deficits Professional team-player in partnership with all staff, partners, board, donors, program participants, volunteers Essential Duties(Details to be provided annually; may be modified each year according to align with organizational goals) Well-planned program delivery, as evidenced in participant and site staff feedback and post-program surveys Regular, timely program reporting and evaluation Growth in number of program participants and high rates of retention Photos and quotes from program sessions to support fundraising and communications Qualifications Commitment to see girls overcome academic and personal obstacles Highly organized and motivated Bachelor's Degree in education, nonprofit, social work or related field 1-2 years experience delivering youth leadership programming Specialized knowledge in girls developmental needs and experience a plus (1-2 years experience preferred) Capacity to positively engage pre/adolescent girls Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information and effective practices Candidate will be expected to travel to program sites throughout Huntsville Be available weekdays from 10:00 AM- 6:00 PM and some evening and weekends Excellent written and verbal skills
