Overview

The Senior Analyst, Program Management, is responsible for managing multiple internal programs accountable for coordinating the actions from senior program managers and functional support organizations to accomplish tasks.

This current opening may be filled at this level as posted or at one level higher.

Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)

70% - Manage our Obsolete Materials Replacement Programs (OMRP) for the entire Defense Business Unit. This position will serve as the single point of contact within the Defense Business Unit and with our Defense BU customers. This position will require interfacing with other program managers, design engineers, manufacturing engineers, technology engineers and supply chain personnel to determine their needs, prepare plans and then execute those plans to identify and prove out replacement materials for those items going obsolete. Establish a process that will enable us to identify/forecast those materials going obsolete to prevent program shutdowns. Early identification is key to develop plans that support individual program needs. Will be responsible for securing funding, managing the budgets and schedule for all of their obsolete material replacement efforts.

30% - Lead and support Request for Information and Request for Proposal responses.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree (preferably in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or related field from an accredited Engineering School) and 5 years of experience in an engineering, product development or manufacturing environment. Ability to use technical knowledge and experience to prepare program schedules using Microsoft Project and develop program plans along with Earned Value Management System and reporting experience are also preferred. Technical knowledge of solid propellant propulsion systems would be a plus for the applicant.

Demonstrated abilities in team building by supporting senior program managers and leading assigned tasks to achieve project objectives. Experience in leading, encouraging, reviewing and critiquing work of supporting team members to maximize program success. Demonstrated ability to define and negotiate tasks objectives, scope description and completion criteria for specific and broad activities. Ability to coordinate various activities simultaneously and to make real-time plan adjustments in response to problems and unexpected interim results.

Job will require travel to support Aerojet Rocketdyne motor manufacturing operations in Camden, AR and Orange, VA (one week/month) and to support customer meetings.

Must be proficient in typical office computer programs for conduct of program management such as MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word.

US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Desirable Qualifications:

* PMP Certification.

* Energetic material manufacturing experience.

* MS in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or related field.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
