Core Purpose: Consults "beyond benefits," working directly with clients, producers, insurance companies and other S.S. Nesbitt employee team members to strategize and propose viable solutions to meet client needs while enhancing the benefits options clients offer to their employees. Partners with clients to ensure they perform best in class by applying emerging trends in employee benefits and fulfilling ACA compliance regulations. Confidently and successfully navigates clients through the annual renewal process to provide expert recommendations and cost:conscious strategies.
Basic Qualifications:
:Bachelor's Degree
:5+ years Human Resources/Benefits/Insurance experience
:Currently possess or have ability to obtain Life and Health Insurance license
:Has an understanding of and/or application of the following terms: Wrap Documents, Summary Annual Report; 6055/6056 Reporting; 1095:C Documents; "Cadillac Tax"; Schedule A Documents; Stop Loss Coverage; ERISA; Discrimination Testing; "SBC" Documents; CHIPRA; Outcomes Based Wellness Programs; Transitional Reinsurance Fees; PCORI Fees
:Provides consultative services and support to clients, client companies, and accounts.
:Assists client in the implementation and management of a comprehensive variety of benefit programs.
:Coordinates with clients and internal team members to provide high quality services.
:Maintains cutting edge knowledge of healthcare guidelines, regulations, compliance and legislation (i.e., ACA, HIPAA).
:Assist producers with companies who are transitioning to self:insured, captives and stop loss programs.
:May provide further client support related to specialty areas.
:Inputs and tracks activities in benefits management and document management systems.
:Interface with and receive direction from producers and/or senior managers.
:Build and maintain strong relationships with client HR, Benefits staff and upper management through regular communication and keep S.S. Nesbitt team fully informed of pertinent activities on account.
:Adhere to our agency standards of performance and policies and procedures.
Additional Information:
:Strong technical knowledge of group insurance products, self:insured plans, ancillary lines, and healthcare reform.
:As needed, assist in the calculation, preparation and/or validation of invoices to clients invoices.
:Makes decisions that have significant impact on a client's credibility, operations and/or services.
:May supervise and/or mentor less experienced staff.
:Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
:Experience using agency management systems, preferably BenefitPoint and WorkSmart applications.
:Overall bent towards embracing technology.
