Seeking a Cyber Security Specialist (CSS) to support the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program located in Huntsville AL, and assigned to the Program Protection & Security team RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Plans and conducts vulnerability assessments with defined interfaces. Performs limited penetration testing and routine exploit analysis. Analyzes architecture and system functionality for multiple technologies. Performs automated vulnerability testing. Evaluates system security configurations. Contributes to the development and evaluation of attack scenarios. Evaluates findings and conducts root cause analysis. DivisionEngineering Mods & MaintenanceQualifications This position requires an active Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED): Minimum 5 years experience in system security domains (e.g., Access Control, Applications Security, Network Security, etc.) and experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) security controls, standards, and guides. Current DoD 8570 IA Technical certification, Level 2 or higher. Technical experience working information systems security in a military or weapon system environment. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network security anomalies, with an understanding of how to accomplish activities in a configuration controlled system, network, and operational environment. Previous Missle Defense Agency (MDA) or GMD program experience - Previous experience working with UNIX, Linux, Windows, Solaris operating systems.
